How it works

Blogger Experience

International travel bloggers, photographers and videomakers create travel offer! How? They cooperate with local experts in order to select their itinerary, with the most experiential activities available in land, so that they can organize it as an offer. They experience each activity, create materials (photos, videos, articles) and suggest how to improve it. In the meanwhile they report everything on social networks and blogs. The destination benefits of the improvement of existing activities, better presented, and promoted on-line through new digital channels.

Megalithic.X

Apr, 2014  ·  Germany and Netherlands

A groups of bloggers, photographers and videographers were given the opportunity by the Council of Europe and the European Commission joint programme on Cultural Routes to experience the thematic itineraries of certified Cultural Routes across Europe. This first journey was tracing the megalithic culture in Europe by exploring the outstanding monuments of Megalithic Routes in Germany and The Netherlands. Daniel Nahabedian (canvasoflight.com), Denis Stricker (strickyplanet.com), Renate Sandvik (http://gossipgirlworld.blogg.no) and Renato Lamonica were our four lucky delegates who travelled along the Megalithic Route, meeting local operators and destination managers, understanding local traditions and cultures. They were asked to share their impressions and experience of these itineraries, by connecting cultural, spiritual and historical heritage of Europe, communities and environments and providing photographs, videos, diary notes and articles, presented as chronicles of their trips.

Why was the Megalithic Route perfect for this format?

Because these places are rich in local traditions and kept secrtes that still have not been converted into activities to be offered to visitors. Locals keep their traditions as hidden treasures and are not even aware of the potential of them as activities for visitors. Blogger Experience took place in these destinations to bring international travellers together with local experts and allow them to design an itinerary together, experience it and promote it in a totally innovative way. Visitors will come soon after. This project was realized thanks to the support of the European Institute of Cultural Routes and funded by the European Commission and funded by the Council of Europe

Blogger Experience food

May, 2014  ·  Brindisi

Ayngelina Brogan (baconismagic.ca), a world famous travel and food blogger, along with Denis Strickner (www.strickyplanet.com), a well known italian videomaker and with the support of young and passionate local experts, this May travelled across the whole province of Brindisi (Puglia, Italy), in order to discover and experience local food and wine traditions and enterprises. Ayngelina tested how local life in Puglia is, how locals eat and prepare traditional recipes, she discovered the best kept secrets and learned "nonnas tips". Food, wine and landscapes were live reported and filmed to become an online guide for foodies visiting Puglia and looking for activities to enrich their trip.

Why was Brindisi perfect for this format?

Because it's one of those places that have never been considered as major tourist destinations. Locals keep their traditions as hidden treasures and are not even aware of the potential of them as activities for visitors. Blogger Experience | Food took place in Brindisi to bring international wanderers together with local experts and allow them to design a food itinerary together (in a country like Italy, well known for food and wine traditions) experience it and promote it in a totally innovative way. Visitors will come soon after. This project was realized thanks to the support of the Chamber of Commerce of Brindisi, within a program of enhancement and promotion of the Mediterranean Diet.

Blogger Experience Brindisi

Jun, 2013  ·  Brindisi

A groups of 9 world famous travel bloggers, photographers and videomakers were invited to experience two major happenings in Brindisi (Puglia, Italy): the Negroamaro Wine Festival and the International Brindisi - Corfu Sailing Competition. Once there, they also enjoyed typical activities across the destination (Brindisi and the surrounding area), reveal the territory to visitors in a novel way. The group of 9 bloggers also shared their impressions and experience of these itineraries, by connecting cultural, spiritual and historical heritage of Puglia, communities and environments and providing photographs, videos, diary notes and articles, presented as chronicles of their trips on www.brindisimydestination.com

Why was Brindisi perfect for this format?

Because these places are rich in local traditions and kept secrtes that still have not been converted into activities to be offered to visitors. Here, joung people leave without even thinking to have an opportunity to develop their skills, work and imagine their future here. Experience Lab took place in these destinations to show that it's necessary to train local resources to achieve ambitious objectives such as becoming a tourism destination. This project was realized thanks to the support of the European Institute of Cultural Routes and funded by the Council of Europe MIRABILIA - European Network of Unesco Sites, supported by a network of 10 Chambers of Commerce across Italy and Unioncamere Italy.

Experience Lab

Experience Lab is an unconventional training in design, management and innovative promotion of the experiential travel offer. We teach destinations how to convert local traditions, passions and enterprises into experiences to be offered to the visitor, from food and wine to culture, from sport to handicraft, from industrial areas to ancient professions. Experts and motivators organize unconventional and practical workshops to share with locals the skills needed to enchant and surprise by simply re-inventing what destinations already have.

Experience Lab Brindisi

May, 2014  ·  Brindisi

An entire month of training in Brindisi (Puglia, Italy), learning design, management and innovative promotion of the tourism and travel offer. Up to 400 among students and local operators learned how to create unconventional experiences for visitors, through theoretical activities along with interactive and itinerant workshops. Among our 10 international teachers and motivators also TED speakers and world famous travel and food bloggers. All of them are passionate wanderers and enthusiastic supporters of our dream: converting a less known destination into a niche travel experience. The course was scheduled and organized according to the main features of this territory, and in particular ranged from wine to rural design, from cultural service design to innovative promotion and from business and start-up basics to international case studies

Experience Lab Mirabilia

Fall, 2014  ·  Brindisi, Udine, Perugia, Matera, La Spezia, Genova, Messina, Vicenza and Padova

The training took place in 10 less known Unesco World Heritage Sites in Italy, part of the network of destinations involved in the MIRABILIA - European Network of Unesco Sites project. From September until December 2014, for two days in each location, up to 400 among professionals and local operators learned how to create unconventional experiences for visitors, through theoretical activities along with interactive and itinerant workshops. The training in design, management and innovative promotion of tourism and travel offer was focused on the enhancement of the local cultural heritage and the service design in an UNESCO WHS. Our teacher, Barbara Marcotulli, expert in service design and cultural heritage development, along with Emma Taveri, project coordinator of this activity, wandered across Italy to meet enthusiastic and passionate supporters of the dream of converting a less known destination into a niche travel experience. The course was scheduled and organized according to the main features of each territory and audience, by sharing practical tools that could be implemented in the daily activities of the participants.

Experience Lab Nature

June, 2015  ·  Riserva Naturale dello Stato di Torre Guaceto, Parco Naturale Regionale delle Dune Costiere, Parco Naturale Regionale Litorale d'Ugento

A new, unconventional training in the unspoiled natural reserves of Puglia (Italy) learning design, management and innovative promotion of the sustainable tourism and travel offer. The theoretical part of the course took place in Brindisi, where 40 among students and local operators learned how to create unconventional experiences for visitors in connection with the beautiful natural areas of the Salento area in Puglia. This first part was lead by Barbara Marcotulli, our expert service designer and experience designer.

Following these first 3 days of theory, the 3 days of interactive and itinerant workshops took the participants to the ground in the natural parks of Torre Guaceto, Dune Costiere and Litorale di Ugento. The aim of the practical part of the training was to practice what learned in class, to better understand how these ecosystems work, and to learn from the best practices already working in these areas. The group was lead by Alessia Clusini, experiential tourism expert and social media strategist and accompanied by world famous travel bloggers.

The course was scheduled and organized according to the main features of this territory, and in particular ranged from service design in natural areas, to innovative promotion of its experiences and from business and start-up basics to international and local case studies.

Why was Salento perfect for this format?

Because this destination hardly invested into the development of a sustainable tourism experience, preferring targeting mass tourism, always considered as a major economy driver. But there are farsighted leaders and passionate people who rotate around unspoiled natural areas, that don't agree with this vision and are working hard to improve the performance of a possible sustainable destination and to attract a different kind of tourist. Experience Lab in Nature was strongly supported by the management of the Natural Reserve of Torre Guaceto and took place in this park and in other 2 to show that it's necessary to train local resources to achieve ambitious objectives such as becoming a sustainable tourism destination. The value of this project was increased thanks to the local knowledge of Marcello Longo (Slow Food Foundation), Gianfranco Ciola (manager of the Natural Reserve Dune Costiere), Cooperativa Thalassia (experience provider in the area of Torre Guaceto) and Marco d'Adamo (consultant of the Litorale di Ugento park).
